Who we work with

ActivitiesGo Country works with a wide range of client groups who find themselves at a disadvantage in society. This can be due to unemployment, homelessness or substance dependency through to young carers who find themselves having to look after a sibling or parent who has a long term illness. We have worked with agencies that refer the young people to us such as social work, community police, early intervention organisations as well as local authorities and training organisations, youth groups, Guides, Scouts and other uniformed organisations.

The young people who come to us often have low self esteem and self confidence; many have social issues and are on the fringes of offending or re-offending. As well as this a high number of the young people have learning disabilities or physical disabilities such as visual or hearing impairment. The common denominator is that their circumstances deny them an equal opportunity to access the type of activities that we provide.

The activities that we provide can be on a day activity basis or, if preferred, can be residential in nature, allowing for an intense experience which can affect a greater change in a very short space of time. The young people can then be put in contact with organisations to help them continue developing.
